ORLANDO - The Lions faced off against the OKC Energy FC at ESPN's Wide World of Sports arena in front of 4,532 fans. Orlando City would defeat OKC 3-1, giving the Lions their 5th win of the season and also putting them in first place in the USL Pro standings.
In the first half, Midfielder Kevin Molino kicked a pass across the field for a Dennis Chin header at the 33rd minute mark. Just 55 seconds after that, Molino would connect with Yordany Alvarez for a score. This gives Molino 4 assists for the season. "He's a very very good player, because of his ability he should score 10 a season and should assist 20 a season." said team manager Adrian Heath on the skill of Molino.
Just before the break, OKC's Philip Lund brought his team back into the game by scoring at the 41st minute mark and cutting the Lions lead to 1.
Three minutes into the second half, Dennis Chin would score his fourth goal in 5 games. This gave the Lions a 3-1 lead over the OKC Energy. The Lions defense would hold the Energy scoreless for the rest of the game.
Orlando City starts a 2 game road trip, when they head to Pittsburgh to play the Riverhounds and to Rochester to play the Rhinos. "I can see the confidence coming back into group, but it's a big challenge because we are the team that people want to beat…. if we can do the same again I would be delighted." said Heath about his team's confidence heading into the road trip.
